The Source: Affordable Care Act | Water Rights in Texas

Gallup

In the first segment:

The Affordable Care Act's Health Exchanges go online today.   Two out of three uninsured people say they will get insurance before the January deadline rather than risk the federal penalty, but many say they won't go the federal or state exchange route...do they know what that means? What do people actually know about them and how will they impact the San Antonio Community?

Frank Newport, Gallup Editor and Chief joins us to talk about what the American people know about the ACA and how that might change now that the program is up and running.

Jim Young, CEO of Faith Family Clinics here in San Antonio, works with the uninsured population. He joins us to talk about how it will impact his clients.

In the second segment:

Water rights have been a hot topic here in Texas for as long as there have been droughts.  With the recent rulings in Edwards Aquifer Authority v Day and last month's Edwards Aquifer Authority v Bragg rulings making it more difficult to enforce water regulation, what should Texas expect in the midst of another long drought? Will the biggest straw still win?

Amy Hardberger is a associate professor of law at St Mary's University. She joins us to break down the Bragg ruling and how water rights are affected.

Ronny Hopper is a cotton grower and High Planes Water District Board Member in the pan-handle.  He joins us to give perspective to those making their money from the land.
