The Source: Who Will Be Next District 26 Senator?

State of Texas

With state Sen. Leticia Van de Putte running for San Antonio Mayor, another vacancy has come to the city's changing legislative delegation. Early voting started yesterday to fill the seat.

Making up the west and northwest portion of San Antonio--stretching from NW 1604 southeast into downtown--Senate District 26 represents the interests of both urban and suburban constituents. Issues important to such a diverse group are wide and varied.

Transportation funding, educational opportunity and finance, as well as local control are all issues that will be debated in the coming session.

We were able to reach 4 of the 5 candidates in our outreach, they join us today to convince you they are the right person for the job.

  • Alma Perez Jackson, republican candidate for senate
  • Jose Menendez, current Texas House Representative for district 124, and democratic candidate for state senate.
