StoryCorps Listening Event To Feature Military Voices
While the StoryCorps Mobile booth is in town, we invite you to join us at the San Antonio Central Library on Thursday, February 25 for a special Listening Party event, celebrating StoryCorps’ Military Voices Initiative. Join us in the Central Library’s auditorium at 7 p.m. that evening to hear a selection of hand-picked stories and see some of the animated shorts based on StoryCorps audio, all with a military theme.
Doors open at 6:30, with a reception following the program at 8:00, set to the sounds of Fort Sam Houston’s Intrepid Winds. Open seating is limited to 140 persons, but please RSVP for this free community event by clicking here or calling 800-622-8977, so we may get a head count (for our reception).

About the Military Voices Initiative:
For more than a decade, 2.4 million men and women have served in Iraq and Afghanistan while millions of families have stood behind them at home. The military community knows well the challenges of multiple deployments, combat-injuries, and long-awaited homecomings. Yet few civilians truly understand the complex realities of our troops’ service and sacrifice.
The Military Voices Initiative provides a platform for veterans, service members, and military families to share their stories. In doing so we honor their voices, amplify their experiences, and let them know that we—as a nation—are listening.
Support for the Military Voices Initiative is provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Newman's Own Foundation. Local support for StoryCorps in San Antonio comes from ESD Digital Marketing, Monterrey Iron & Metal, and Codeup.
