UTSA President Taylor Eighmy Shares Vision For The Future

Courtesy The University of Texas at San Antonio

Six months into his presidency at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Taylor Eighmy already has ambitious plans.

Working most recently in research universities like Texas Tech and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Eighmy has a background in civil and environmental engineering. He was an active researcher and inventor while in academia, as well as a professor and administrator.

The university's downtown campus celebrated two decades this year. Eighmy hopes that plans for upcoming expansion will triple enrollment in the next 10 years, bringing 15,000 students to San Antonio's urban core.

What does it mean to be an "urban-serving university" and what is next for UTSA?

How does Eighmy plan to engage with the community? How can students, faculty and alumni play a more influential role in San Antonio's economic and cultural outcomes?
