Libertarian Party Of Texas Announces Candidates For Statewide Office

Nine people stood in front of the Alamo hoping to change the status quo of the state as the Libertarian Party of Texas announced its candidates for statewide office. The list included those for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and state, county and congressional delegations.

Kathy Glass, as Houston lawyer who was not at the event, is the party's candidate for governor. She ran previously in 2010 and came away with 2 percent of the vote. She said she believes the state has been run by a single party for too long.

(Oct. 14)***There were several errors in the original reporting of this story as it pertains to Kathie Glass: Glass is a Libertarian candidate and is not running in the Republican primary for governor in 2014. When Glass ran for governor in 2010, she also did so on the Libertarian ticket. Tom Glass, who is her husband and vice-chairman of the Texas Libertarian Party, brought these errors to our attention (see comment below story). An on-air correction will also be made for this story
